Wednesday 2 January 2013

Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and can still fit into their clothes. Here we are in 2013.

I find it a little bizarre how so many people look at the start of a New Year so negatively. Many just moan and say it’s just another day like the day before. Although I see their point, is it so wrong to celebrate and look at the new year ahead with optimism and ambition? I’ve always loved the start of a new year. It’s nice to set yourself goals and dreams to accomplish. I know many make resolutions that are never kept but others do make big plans and go on to achieve them. I’ve really got high hopes and big ideas for this year. I personally hope to make it my most successful year to date. I also like to think it could be a big year for my native Teesside. Musically, there seems to be so much happening and it’s been building up for some time. There are so many promoters and venues popping up, not to mention bands, singers, etc. No matter what you may think of X-factor, having someone from Teesside win the competition could also prove a huge boost for the area. There’s so much musical talent around locally and it would be nice to see the area finally gain some positive recognition it so richly deserves.

As I’ve mentioned in previous blogs, this year I plan to release my new album (my best to date), a best of album, a covers album, a few ebooks and to also have made some professional promotional videos to accompany some of my new songs, as well as record and release new tracks under my various side projects. I also plan to gig a hell of a lot more. As you can tell, I plan for a busy and highly productive year. Due to a large increase in YouTube views, I’ve finally managed to become a YouTube partner, which means I will start earning from my video viewings from now on. Thank you to all those who watch my music videos and, please, keep it up.

Until next time, thanks you and best wishes for the year ahead.
